While it may be possible for SAF to reduce carbon emissions from flying in the long run the carbon emitted in the extensive construction works at Heathrow and other airports will be contributing to the rush past 1.5 degrees C of warming. The high court has required a carbon reduction plan compliant with the Climate Change Act by 2 May 2025. That is the law not nimbyism.

What chance is there of the Government's carbon reduction plan that is required by the Courts to be published by May2025 being found to be legally compliant with the Climate Change Act? The Tory Government failed twice and Labour has now added increased new housebuilding targets (inc new settlements), airport expansion, massive increase in AI and electrification of steel.
